Brentwood Police Department Canine Unit was established 1996. Our canines and canine handlers are selected through a testing process and once selected they are sent to two weeks of training to bond, learn about each other and work together. This training includes teaching the handlers to speak to the dogs in different languages depending on the country the canine originated from.

Over the years Brentwood Police Department has had seven canines and eight handlers.
