Background
The City of Brentwood Youth Commission is an advisory body to the City Council, dedicated to promoting the youth voice in local government. Founded in 1999, the Youth Commission consists of ten students of diverse backgrounds who care about the Brentwood community and have a drive to make our community the best possible place for youth. Three adult advisors and City staff support the Youth Commissioners. The Youth Commission has organized youth-oriented events such as dances/socials, fundraisers, youth forums, and city events. The Youth Commission offers scholarships to local high school seniors by raising money at various fundraisers.

Members of the Brentwood Youth Commission will experience a unique opportunity to work with city leaders and staff, as well as students from all Brentwood middle and high schools, to implement policies and programs that positively impact the youth of our community. Commissioners will also gain valuable leadership skills in the city spectrum as well as develop friendships and relationships that will last a lifetime.
Current Openings
The City of Brentwood is currently seeking youth, ages 11-18, who reside within the city limits of Brentwood, to serve as commissioners on the City of Brentwood Youth Commission for a two-year term, beginning July 2024.
Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2024.
