 About the Director of Parks and Recreation

Bruce Mulder has been the Director of Parks and Recreation since 2014. He has over 30 years of professional experience in community Parks and Recreation working in municipal government, special districts, and County government agencies. He holds a M.S. and a B.S. in Parks and Recreation Resources from Michigan State University. He has a philosophy of facilitating the best quality of life for Brentwood residents by leveraging the City’s parks, facilities and recreation services to maximize their community benefit in an equitable way for all residents to enjoy. When not in the office you can find Bruce in the parks and on the trails enjoying the outdoors with his family.

The Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to the wellbeing and quality of life of our community. We provide the best in programs, parks and services at a great value to our customers. Brentwood has approximately 242 developed acres of active parks in our park system, comprised of nearly 100 award winning parks and facilities, 19.2 miles of beautiful local and regional trails, and 63 miles of on street bike lanes.
