The State of California has declared that the availability of housing is of vital statewide importance, and the early attainment of decent housing and a suitable living environment for every Californian is a priority of the highest order. The City of Brentwood understands the need for affordable housing opportunities. The City of Brentwood’s Housing Division is continuously working with non-profit, private, and public entities to maximize opportunities to develop affordable housing.

The City has always taken an active approach to provide affordable housing for its residents.  Policy decisions and strategies regarding the City’s Affordable Ordinance balances the need to meet State and Regional housing mandates while addressing the community needs to ensure all income levels are provided housing and affordable housing opportunities.

Since its inception of the program, the City’s Affordable Housing Program has provided 100 affordable homes to income qualifying families

The City of Brentwood’s Affordable Housing Program seeks to make decent, sanitary and safe housing available to Brentwood residents, workers, and all eligible participants that qualify under the Very Low, Low, or Moderate Income Category.

Based on the information that a person provides in regards to their household size and annual income is the first qualifying factor for placement on the interest/waiting list. Currently all waitlist are closed.
